Oh-Oh

As you may remember, we are now writing for the Weekly Standard Online. Every Sunday, we submit a piece to Jonathan Last, our editor. This week was my first effort. I emailed my piece to Jonathan around noon; since then, I've checked several times for an email, but haven't heard anything back. A little while ago I went to the Standard's site, and was reminded that their annual Caribbean cruise is now in progress. Jonathan, in fact, has a piece posted with the subtitle:

We make port at Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum.

Which worried me a little: I've never been edited by a guy with a bottle of rum in his hand. I don't know though; it might improve my prose style. We'll keep you posted.
