I'm back from an arduous week of travel, including a stint in Las Vegas (on business). I've always thought that the baby boomer generation, for all of its flaws, has better taste than the "greatest generation," especially when it comes to architecture. For example, compare RFK Stadium and the Vet in Philadelphia with Baltimore's Camden Yards and "the Jake" in Cleveland. But Las Vegas struck me as a counter-example. |
