Bin Laden Rumored Dead, Again
A French newspaper has published a report, ostensibly leaked by the French secret service, that Osama bin Laden died of typhoid last month in Pakistan. American officials say they can't confirm the report, but they sound skeptical.
I'm skeptical too. At one point, I was convinced that bin Laden was dead for almost two years. He then surfaced, if memory serves, with a John Kerry campaign plug just before the 2004 election. This time, the rumors are fueled in part by the fact that he--unlike his confederate Zawahiri--hasn't been seen in video since late 2004.

UPDATE: Time reports that Saudi sources say bin Laden may or may not be dead, but at a minimum is very sick with a "water-borne illness." I still don't believe it.
