Live from Carolina Freedomnet 2006
I'm in Greensboro waiting for the first panel of the John Locke Foundation's Carolina Freedomnet 2006 program to begin. As I flew from Minneapolis yesterday I felt a little bit like a fireman heading toward a fire. The chlorine fire that has been in the news is about 15 miles from the location of the conference.
Last night I met sisters Abby Misemer and Missy Nurrenbrock of New Port Richey, Florida. They are huge Power Line fans who read about the conference here when I first noted it in August and flew up to attend. They are the most attentive, appreciative and observant readers I have ever met. Having read the site faithfully for several years, they know me about as well as my family.
"Hello, my name is John, and I'm a blogger." Thus Locke Foundation president John Hood kicked off the conference this morning. The bloggers speaking on the panels include Lorie Byrd, Sister Toldjah, Bob Owens, rising star Mary Katharine Ham, Scott Elliott, Josh Manchester, Sam Hieb, and Jeff Taylor.
I want to try to concentrate on what's being said by the panelists rather than live blog the event and will sign off for now.
