Senator Biden's whopper
Sen. Joe Biden has issued a statement criticizing the White House for "its false claim that consideration of Mr. Bolton’s nomination was blocked by Senate Democrats." But it is Biden who is not being honest. The Senate was unable to move to a vote on Bolton’s nomination because Democrats filibustered. The Senate considered cloture motions on his nomination on two separate occasions. Both times, the motions failed because all but three Democrats voted to continue to the filibuster. JOHN adds: Yes, and only yesterday Biden was quoted as saying that he saw "no point in considering Mr. Bolton's nomination again." Which can only be taken to mean that the Democrats have not backed down on their use of the filibuster to block the Senate's majority from confirming Bolton.
