Earlier this week I noted the geographic contraction of the Republican base represented in Tuesday's election results. Tod Lindberg elaborates on this point in "Pathetic Republicans..." Lindberg contrasts 1994 with 2006, takes a close look at the trends represented in a few races, notes that the GOP base is now essentially confined to the South, and makes recommendations based on his analysis of the shifting electorate.
