Imagination at work

John Fund's excellent review of the new book on Ronald Reagan's eight years working for General Electric is not to be missed: "What GE brought to his life." Reading the review yesterday, I was struck by the varied experiences -- his acting career, his union leadership, his trench warfare with Communist goons trying to take over the Screen Actors Guild, his work with GE, his gubernatorial experience, his radio work -- that prepared Reagan for the presidency. I had not understood what a critical component of his experience the GE work constituted; Fund's review helped me understand.
