The End of the World As We Know It

Elementary schools in Massachusetts, Washington and Wyoming (!) have banned the playing of tag during recess. Too dangerous. Risks of legal liability.
So perhaps, just as we use nautical expressions like “in the offing” without having any idea what they mean, future generations may say “You’re it!” or talk about “telephone tag” without understanding the reference. Sad.
