Omaha Beach, 2007

The Combat Report put together this video to illustrate how the assault on Omaha Beach would be reported if it happened today. (Via BlackFive.) It’s an excellent job; actually, I think it’s understated: the reality would probably be worse.

I’ve said it before: I doubt whether any military has ever been asked to win a war when half of its country’s elected officials and a majority of its mass media are pulling for defeat.
