Presdient Bush plays in Manhattan (for one week only)

George Packer is a journalist who writes for the New Yorker. He is the son of Herbert Packer, who was on the Stanford law faculty when I was a student at the law school.
Recently, inspired by President Bush’s attack on conservative critics of the immigration reform proposal, Packer claimed that Bush had enjoyed the best week of his presidency (better, for example, than the week the Taliban regime fell). In the same piece, Packer tried to argue that Bush will be remembered as a failure regardless of what happens in the Middle East.
